The fans of “Parenthood” are holding their breath for news on the NBC decision of the popular show. Only a handful of shows have been renewed by the network and viewers have not a clue on what might happen for the upcoming season. Will “Parenthood” be renewed? Or was the season finale the end of the series? According to TV by the Numbers on Sunday, the show is expected to be renewed by NBC.

The decision of "Parenthood" renewal rests on several factors, but it already looks to be in the viewer’s favor. Not only have the fans been vocal about their desire for the show to return, it appears that the cast is making their opinion known too. Add that the show has conquered plenty of social issues with a strong impact and fans appreciate the writing of the series.

The show also needs to have a place in the new season. While shows are decided upon, so are the time slots for the new season. Giving the show a good spot on the network is important for continued success of any NBC program.

So what when will the decision of “Parenthood” be announced? NBC keeps their decisions close to the vest and will be announcing what will continue during the network’s upfront announcements next week (May 12th to 15th.) The final decisions are expected this week and the cast and crew will be notified before the viewers know, but all signs point for a renewal of the popular show.

The consensus of the TV critic community is that “Parenthood" will be renewed. Where it might end up and if it will be airing in the fall (or later on in the year) isn’t known. While the variables for the show are still up on the air, it is obvious the fans couldn't be happier to hear that their favorite show is expected to return.
