The Red Robin Gourmet Burgers chain today announced it has taken over four of its Upstate franchises, including those in Latham and Halfmoon.
The franchises had been held by Swan Concepts Inc.
The parent company now directly owns and operates 12 locations in New York. The two Capital Region venues being acquired are at 880 Loudon Road (Route 9) in Latham, Albany County, and 1 Halfmoon Crossing in Halfmoon, Saratoga County. The others are in Fayetteville and Poughkeepsie.
Red Robin said the businesses will continue operating the same hours through the ownership transition.
The chain was founded in 1969 and operates through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Red Robin International Inc. There are more than 490 Red Robin restaurants across the U.S. and Canada, including those operating under franchise agreements.
