An unidentified parent who was helping raise money for a graduating class has been accused of stealing more than $6,000 from the students. Saint Peter's Police are investigating the incident which involved Fort Zumwalt School District. The money was intended for an all-night graduate party for the Fort Zumwalt East High School class of 2013. The superintendent says despite the missing funds, the parents were able to have the party as planned. No arrests have been made.
"It's about as bad as it comes, I mean, the funds were raised by parents for their graduates to give them a good party to keep them safe so the kids will stay in the school that whole night rather than go out and participate in any kind of crazy activities that go on at an exciting time like graduation, so to take money from those kids, I can't hardly think of much worse."
