Parasha Beshalach - infusing the material with spirit - on the other side

Israel is triumphant on the other side of the Red Sea. Paro’s chariots are submerged his men lost.

Shemos: 14:31. And Israel saw the great hand, which the Lord had used upon the Egyptians, and the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in Moses, His servant.

The great hand (HaYad HaGaDooLaH) symbolizes the ten plagues and the ten fingers of the hands. They were filled with the awe inspiring presence of Hashem through their own eyes which witnessed the mighty acts that brought them from being so far immersed in Mitzrayim to a point in time in which they were surround by Hashem.

Most people have selective attention. They have more misses than hits and wonder why.
When your focus is narrow by definition the broad spectrum of ideas is outside of your field of vision. However when you are able to bring the all encompassing inside of your immediate area of attention then you have a quality of concentration that is like no other.
For years Israel had been praying for a deliverer that was promised to them. It takes Moshe to hone that dream and narrow their focus sufficiently to bring about the experience of the all-encompassing presence of Hashem.

Shemos: 15: 4. Pharaoh's chariots and his army He cast into the sea, and the elite of his officers sank in the Red Sea.

What happens to your doubts once you get to the other side of consciousness and feel the freedom and awe inspiring presence of Hashem? They are submerged. Paro’s chariots? What is this referring to? What is it that carries chaos into our midst leading to our subservience to that chaos?

It is Lashon Hara (the evil tongue). We are bound by our words either for good or evil. When we speak against others, engage in gossip or simply speak negatively; all of this brings about our downfall into a state of bondage. After their deliverance the children of Israel are healed of the effects of Lashon Hara.

What about Paro’s army? This symbolizes how negativity forms bonds of attraction that feed off of each other and the sparks of holiness that have been captured and enslaved by them. This army is the conglomeration of negative thoughts that may only produce more negativity until its destined end, which is destruction as brought out by their submergence in the Red Sea.

Who are these elite officers? Beyond what is given there is that which resides on top riding as it were as a carrier wave of influence guiding and directing providing just the right amount of impetus meant to win the day. What they represent ((elite officers) are those thoughts that have the most attractive force in terms of calling you back to the status quo you have left behind. These premier examples of negative influence are also turned back and submerged.

Consider too that an obvious reading of ‘the Red Sea’ is the blood within where our consciousness resides. Hashem represents in this context an elevation of spirit that cancels out patterns of negativity so that the consciousness may link up with its primordial home as one with Hashem.

So it turns out that what it is we are about is the elevation of consciousness via our connection with Hashem so that we may leave the Egypt of the status quo of materiality. In doing so we infuse materiality with spirit lighting up our world so to speak in order to unify our thoughts with our higher purpose. This moment we shall see will lead to a direct line to Hashem through the Torah that will be given on Mount Sinai.  This will then provide the way for us to be able to always go beyond chaos and journey back to the holiness within.
