Football fans who are also paranormal enthusiasts can get their fix of both when visiting Indianapolis this week. If you are here this week and have the time, there are many places with paranormal activity to check out.
Indianapolis is a buzz with all of the Super Bowl festivities. There is the Super Bowl Village, the NFL Experience, concerts everyday, The Huddle, and so much more to experience downtown.
If you are into the paranormal there are quite a few things to do close to downtown. Wanna hang out and have a few beers, you could check out the Slippery Noodle Inn. The Slippery Noodle Inn, at one time was a part of the Underground Railroad. There have been reports of an apparition of a man in overalls. Who knows while you are here you may encounter diferent kinds of spirits!
Crown Hill Cemetery is the 3rd largest cemetery in the US. There are many famous people buried here. John Dillinger, James Whitcomb Riley, President Benjamin Harrison, and Robert Irsay (once owner of the Colt's). You can take tours that are really interesting. This is one of the most beautiful cemeteries I have ever seen.
Central State Hospital was Indianapolis' home for the mentally insane. Though the buildings are closed to the public, there is a Medical History Museum on the property. The museum represents the beginning of scientific psychiatry and modern medicine while the building itself is the oldest surviving pathology facility in the nation and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Old Spaghetti factory downtown is said to be haunted as well. I have searched for some verifiable information, but unfortunately have not had any luck. I have only heard stories about noises and objects being moved. People have seen things move out of the corners of their eyes. If you want a great dinner, this is the place to go!
The Milano Inn is a family owned restaurant located on South College Avenue. Built in 1934, this restaurant has a beautiful mural inside that seems to be topic of conversation. Stories have been told of an apparition of a woman being seen upstairs.
One of the other places worth checking out while you are here is the historic Hannah House. This location was part of the Underground Railroad too. Lots of great history associated with this home and some really great paranormal activity has been captured here.
Indianapolis, In is a great place for things to do. This week is gonna be a great week as far as weather goes. Tons of Super Bowl activities and some even better activities if you love history. I truly hope you enjoy yourself in this wonderful city!
