Paranormal group does more than just 'ghost hunt'

It's a dark and chilly autumn night, as Tri-City Paranormal Society founder, Gary Robusto enters a residence to speak with the folks there, having issues with paranormal activity in their house. He listens intently, taking in every word. Being a good listener and observer. He cares about them. He cares about people.

As a seasoned paranormal investigator of over 17 years, Gary looks at all sides of the issues to see if there's a more earthly or logical explanation other than the paranormal. But that's just part of the process.

Tri-City New York Paranormal Society was founded a little over two years ago, based out of Albany, New York, and is made up of investigators around the capital region, including Albany, Rennselaer, Schnectady and Saratoga counties.

But beyond the paranormal aspects of Gary's organization, there is a mandate. A mandate not just to help people with paranormal issues, but to help the community in which the organization serves.

Gary feels helping neighbors is a constant mission, often using public ghost hunts, lectures and other sponsored events to raise funds for organizations like the Albany County Historical Society, which operates the beautiful Ten Broeck Mansion in Albany, New York.

Recently, Gary and the intrepid members of Tri-City, donated their time and man power to assist with the mansion's Halloween haunted house, appropriately titled, "Zombie Apocalypse," and hosted a horror writer's weekend featuring up and coming horror writer Amanda Doerfler.

This in addition to Tri-City's evergrowing case load, with the public's renewed interest and need for answers in the paranormal.

Now many of my readers will wonder, why is a Paranormal group and its founder being covered on a Cryptozoology Examiner page? Well Tri-City also investigates, not only UFO sightings, but encounters with cryptid,s such as Sasquatch and other anomalous beings.

Gary carries on, with all of these missions and mandates, despite working a forty hour, often much more, a week job, plus raising a family and dealing with all the work and pressures of being family man.

Upon creation of the organization, a little over two years ago, Gary mandated that all team members have a community service obligation, and he, and the group, are always on the search for new charities, and non-profit organizations to help.

In the past the group has helped the Albany Medical Center Children's Hospital, the Chiari Foundation, and switched the team colors to pink, for the Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Recently, Gary and three of his team members traveled to the Middleburgh Library in Schoharie county for a lecture. While there, they learned the library, along with the entire county, had been ravaged and flooded by the effects of Hurricane Irene, this past summer.

The library itself at one point had three feet of water in it, destroying many books and the library was in need of donations. Gary immediately piped in and volunteered Tri-City's services, to find some ways, to get books donated to the library.

Seeing this, the administrator of the Middleburgh Library, continued the "pay it forward" mentality, just shown to her so casually by Gary, and suggested that the Schoharie Library was in more need, advising Gary the Schoharie Library was flooded by about eight feet of water. Gary, again unfettered, "We can do that. No problem."

In Gary's world, he has shown a unique blend of his interest and passion of the paranormal and unexplained mysteries of the world, by creating Tri-City New York Paranormal Society and combined it with his personal values of compassion and caring  for people, not only for who are his neighbors, but any place where help is desparately needed.
