The partnership will commence with the 2014 Tony Award Nominations on Tuesday, April 29, which will be broadcast live from the Paramount Hotel’s newly renovated Diamond Horseshoe. The Paramount Hotel will also host the Meet the Nominees Press Reception on Wednesday, April 30th and the 2014 Tony Nominee Luncheon on Tuesday, May 20th.
This exciting announcement comes on the heels of the Paramount's remarkable $40 million renovation by renown art-collector and real-estate developer Aby Rosen, of RFR Holdings. The landmark property first opened in 1928, and is one of the very few hotels designed and built by prolific theater architect Thomas W. Lamb. The updated property features stunning décor that combines the hotel’s art-deco heritage with modern design and artful details. With unique amenities like the Paramount Bar and Grill and Corso Coffee, the Paramount is the only hotel of its kind in the Theater District.
In addition, the hotel has just re-opened the historic Diamond Horseshoe with an immersive theatrical experience called Queen of the Night. First opened by eccentric theater impresario Billy Rose in 1938, the supper club became known for dinner theaters, vaudeville-style reviews, and a chorus of showgirls called “Billy Rose’s long-stemmed beauties.” Closed abruptly in 1951, the club has lain dormant until now.
