Paramount delivers 'Dictator' spot for Super Bowl

Paramount Pictures yesterday released a 30-second ad for “The Dictator” that will air Sunday during the Super Bowl.

The movie, which will open May 11 at movie theaters throughout the Valley, was written by and stars Sacha Baron Cohen. According to the studio, it is said to “tell the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.” The project was inspired by Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's novel “Zabibah and the King.”

Larry Charles, who previously directed Baron Cohen in “Borat” and “Bruno,” directs while Ben Kingsley, Anna Faris and John C. Reilly costar.
