Tennessee-based rockers Paramore premiered their new single titled “Now” on Monday night. The track previews their upcoming self-titled record, the first since the departure of the Farro brothers in 2010.
After Zac and Josh Farro left, Paramore maintained that they would continue the band as a trio with Hayley Williams, Jeremy Davis, and Taylor York. They band released a single from the “Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon” soundtrack in 2011 and a few other songs since then. “Now” marks Paramore's official return with its lo-fi rock production backing Williams' stern conviction in looking forward. “There's a time and place to die and this ain't it / If there's a future, we want it now,” she sings.
Paramore's self-titled album follows 2009's “Brand New Eyes.” This time around the band worked on the record with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who has previously collaborated with Nine Inch Nails and Kid Rock. The 17-track “Paramore” will be released on April 9.
