Paralympics to be held in the Bay Area

Some of the nations greatest athletes are coming to town! The Bay Area is set to host the U.S. Paralympics Track and Field National Championships.

For the first time ever, the Bay Area will be hosting the U.S. Paralympics Track and Field National Championships. The three day event will take place in June at the College of San Mateo. More than 150 athletes form across the country will be hitting the track for all-day events June 20th through June 22nd.

A number of notable athletes are expected to participate in the competition, including Tatyana McFadden of Clarksville, Md. and Raymond Martin of Jersey City, N.J. McFadden is a 10-time Paralympic medalist in track & field and McFadden swept all six of her events at the 2013 world championships.

The 2016 Paralympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro.
