Paradise awaits those willing to come on board

Paddling Paradise

Located directly on the shores of the Eau Gallie River, Paddling Paradise offers sales, storage, and tours for those fans of Stand Up Paddleboards, Kayaks, and Canoes. Rentals are available for those who want to try out any of the above.

Sunrise and sunset sessions

Friday mornings, a group can be found paddling out into the river to start their weekend by watching the sun come up over the treetops. Sunday evening paddlers start gathering on the water at Paddling Paradise at 6:30 p.m. to watch the spectacle that is sunset on the coast. Early morning and evenings feature calm waters, dolphins and manatees. Everyone is welcome for those little excursions into peace and tranquility. There are no fees for those with their own board, kayak or canoe and no level of expertise is necessary. It's also very romantic! The attached video, Paddleboarding Paradise Dolphin Wednesday, was made by Dan Smith and shows dolphins visiting a paddleboarder watching sunrise on the river. There are other videos, both informative and enjoyable, on the web page.

SUP fitness

Stand-Up Paddleboarding is valued as a fitness exercise. Those thinking it is easy to stand still and dip an oar in the water are surprised at the effort it takes. For those looking for a way to combine the exercise and have some fun at the same time, Paddling Paradise offers the Saturday morning Paddle board Race. All levels are welcome and stress is placed on exercise and good sportsmanship. Learning a few new techniques is also important. The fun begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends around 12:00 p.m. Interested parties may bring their own board or rent one for $20. There is a race entry fee of $5.00

Paddling Paradise is located at 729 North Harbor City Blvd in Melbourne. More information about equipment, sessions, or races can be found by calling 321-258-4492 or contacting
