3 “Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.”(Matthew 13:3-4)
19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path.” (Matthew 13:19)
Seeds were previous sown to bring forth the current harvest. Pumpkins, squash, and a variety of other crops are seen in the market and in homes. Jesus taught a parable about a farmer and his seed sowing expeditions. The first group of seeds fell on the path, and some birds flying by then ate it. That farmer may have been upset. The seed is very costly.
Jesus was talking about the Word of God as being the seed. He was teaching about the different ways people receive or miss His message. People along the path have received the message in their hearts. The devil comes to steal it from them. These are the babes in Christ that were left to fend for themselves. God does not give up on them and will send the Holy Spirit to continue drawing them.
Challenge: Believer, keep praying about the seeds sown! God can restore what was stolen!
