Paparazzo killed while taking photos: Is Justin Bieber to die for? (Photos)

Many young ladies have crooned that musical artist Justin Bieber is “to die for”. At least one individual can say that for sure. An unidentified male photographer has lost his life while trying to get the oh-so-sought after Justin Bieber picture.

On the evening of January 1, 2013, Justin Bieber’s white Ferrari was detained by a California Highway Patrol officer. The photographer was already in pursuit of the vehicle when it was stopped. The photographer parked his vehicle and crossed several lanes of traffic to get closer shots of the occupants in the vehicle. The California Highway Patrol officer instructed the photographer to return to his vehicle. The photographer originally ignored the officer-issued instructions but later conceded. When the photographer attempted to cross back over the lanes of traffic, he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The California Highway Patrol officer requested medical assistance, which transported the injured photographer to the hospital. He was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.

Bieber was not driving, nor was he in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop. It has not been disclosed exactly why the vehicle was originally detained, nor has the identity of the photographer been released.

“While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.” ~ Justin Bieber, response regarding tragic accident.

Eighteen year old Justin Bieber is no stranger to the paparazzi. His on-again, off-again relationship with gal pal Selena Gomez has been very public media fodder. Bieber has also been involved in a number of high speed chases, some requiring police intervention. Over one million viewers have tuned in to see his confrontation with an Entertainment Tonight photographer who was attempting to advise Bieber to drive more carefully. (see video attached)

Notwithstanding, Bieber has reasons to be weary of people paying him (what he may consider) negative attention, as illustrated in the November 2012 arrests in New York of thee men for allegedly conspiring to beat and murder Bieber.

Mustn’t we forget, he is only eighteen!

Bieber has been a very vocal advocate of the need to revise paparazzi laws since obtaining his drivers license and gaining a huge paparazzi following.

“Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.” ~ Justin Bieber, response regarding tragic accident.

Photos garnered by photographers of images of Bieber are in high demand and yield a hefty profit once sold.

But, … is a snapshot of Justin Bieber worth a life?
