Pantone Color of the Year: Emerald Green (Photos)

I don’t know about you, but I am super excited that Pantone has announced their color of the year for 2013: Emerald Green.

Although I am a devotee of the color black for most of my wardrobe choices, emerald green has been a long-time favorite since I was a little girl (I’ll never forget my emerald green velvet and taffeta party dress, which I wore to the San Francisco Nutcracker ballet, circa 1989).

All jewel tones convey a certain regality when donned, but emerald green is perhaps the most stunning jewel tone of them all.

Pair emerald green with sapphire and cobalt for an opulent and sophisticated combination; or pair with amethyst for a fresh, eye-catching look. For spring, pairing emerald green with a palate of creams, beiges and soft yellows makes for a refined and chic fashion statement.

Designers from Monique Lhuiller, Tibi and Chadwick Bell to Vivienne Westwood, Cushnie et Ochs and Lanvin are showcasing emerald green in the spring and fall collections for 2013, so you’re sure to see this color in stores throughout the year.
