Pancakes and Spring hikes are in store at Holden Arboretum

Come to Holden Arboretum in Kirtland, Ohio on Saturday, March 16 or Sunday, March 17 and enjoy a tasty pancake breakfast with all the trimmings and then walk off all those calories when you participate in a guided Spring hike around the Arboretum grounds. It is approximately a 30 minute drive from Cleveland.

Pancake Breakfast Bring offered from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. (with seatings at 9 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and noon) at the Warren H. Corning Visitor Center, the annual Holden Arboretum pancake breakfast features buttermilk or multigrain pancakes with maple or berry syrup, sausage links, home fried redskin potatoes, cut fresh fruit, orange juice, milk or coffee. Guests can also enjoy blueberry pancakes this year.

Guests can also partake of veggie sausage and gluten-free pancakes., You must call ahead (440-946-4400, Ext. 224) to make reservations for the gluten-free pancakes.

Cost for the pancake breakfast is $15 for adults and $10 for children (4-10). Children 3 and under can eat for free. It is advised that you call ahead and make reservations for the breakfast. You can call 440-946-4400.

After visitors finish breakfast, they can join a guided tour where they can explore the grounds and look for signs of Spring.

A Bit About Holden Arboretum One of the largest arboretums and botanical gardens in America, the Holden Arboretum was founded in 1931 after a bequest by Cleveland mining engineer and executive Albert Fairchild Holden and today it is dedicated to education and conservation of plant life with special interest in those plants native to the state of Ohio.

Comprised of over 3500 acres, Holden Arboretum has devoted 600 of those acres to gardens and plant collections with over 9400 different kinds of woody plants representing 74 plant families. The rest of the acreage contains diverse natural areas and habitats that are ecologically sensitive and are maintained in a natural state.

The Arboretum also has numerous specialty gardens (including the Helen S. Layer Rhododendron Garden, the Myrtle S. Holden Wildflower Garden and the Arlen and Arthur Holden, Jr. Butterfly Garden.

In addition, Holden Arboretum has miles of trails for hiking pleasure geared to all skill levels.
