Hiatus Spa + Retreat is celebrating Earth Month with several unique donation opportunities in the spa and online. All funds go to regional non-profits and the Global Green Grants Fund to underwrite Clean Water Initiatives around the globe.

“It is so gratifying to participate in a program like Aveda Earth Month, which directly impacts clean water initiatives in the communities in which we live and work,” said Hiatus Spa + Retreat co-founder Kristin-Heaton Peabody.

In conjunction with Aveda Earth Month and a 2013 fundraising goal of $5 million, fundraising efforts by Hiatus Spa + Retreat will benefit Gulf Restoration Network ( and Lower Mississippi River Keeper (

“Aveda professionals have consistently proven that beauty and environment are inextricably connected, having raised millions of dollars for our global clean water initiative,” said Aveda Earth Month Champion at Neill Corporation, Candice Hoz. “As you can imagine, we are delighted to have this unique opportunity to raise funds and awareness with our spa partner—Hiatus Spa + Retreat—through the beautiful artwork of Austin artist Jan Heaton."

LA SENDA Earth Month Print by Austin artist Jan Heaton

La Senda prints are available online exclusively at ARTMUSE.COM/LA-SENDA/ or available in-spa at Hiatus Spa + Retreat locations in Austin and Dallas.

Open edition on archival paper | image: 22 x 22" | print: 26 x 26" | framed: 30.5 x 30.5" (wood frame choices of black and espresso, made in the USA)

$125 unframed, $295 framed.

“La Senda is a painting from my Laguna series. The series isolates color, form, and line, replicating patterns of movement. The image is inspired by the simplistic beauty and healing properties of water,” says artist Jan Heaton. “The rhythm is created with quiet, translucent veils of color that are contemplative and regenerative. In the end my vision was to create a permanent visual space that influences the viewer’s sense of well-being.

Earth's Embrace

Their waterless Monthly Retreat for April celebrates Earth's riches in a luxurious, skin-quenching experience while conserving water in honor of Earth Month. You¹ll enjoy a gentle dry brush exfoliation to smooth and tone your skin. A blend of melted Cocoa and Shea Butters infused with a comforting blend of Madagascar Vanilla, Cinnamon and Ylang yang is spread over you with warm volcanic stones in a full body massage. As the gentle heat of the stones fades, they are perfectly placed within the layers of a nurturing wrap so you¹ll feel cradled in their warm embrace. A relaxing foot reflexology session deepens your experience until you are awakened with an energizing cool stone facial massage. You¹ll leave with a rhum agricole ti punch cocktail, luminous skin and the knowledge that your experience has helped to raise money for the Global Greengrants Fund to maintain our water and environment. $195, 80 minutes ($118+ H-Circle)
