Former Baywatch “sex kitten” and 13-time Playboy cover girl Pamela Anderson revealed that she has suffered long years of sexual abuse as a child while launching her new animal advocacy organization, the Pamela Anderson Foundation, at the Cannes Film Festival this weekend.

According to Anderson, a long time PETA supporter, she was first molested by a female babysitter at the age of 6, then raped by the 25-year old older brother of the same sitter’s boyfriend when she was 12. She then told the crowd that her first boyfriend “decided that it would be fun to gang rape her with six friends,” sometime later.

“I wanted off this Earth. This meant I had a hard time trusting humans after that. Fortunately, my affinity with animals saved me. They came to me naturally. My loyalty remained with the animal kingdom and I vowed to protect them and only them. I prayed to whales with my feet in the ocean, my only real friends until I had children,” she revealed during a beach-party fundraising tournament for designer Dame Vivienne Westwood’s “Cool Earth” charity.

According to its mission statement, the Pamela Anderson Foundation “supports organizations and individuals on the front lines protecting the environment, animal rights and human rights.” The actress is also a supper of the MAC Cosmetics’ AID Fund.
