Pamela Anderson ("Baywatch," "Home Improvement") has been chosen to portray the "Virgin Mary" in CTV’s Christmas special “A Russell Peters Christmas.”

The Wrap reports that the holiday comedy special, hosted by comedian Russell Peters, will also include Canadian crooner Michel Buble, "SNL" veteran Jon Loviz, and Ted Lange (best remembered for his role as “Issac” the bartender on the ABC series ‘The Love Boat”).

The jury is still out on how audiences will react to Anderson as one of Christianity’s most revered religious figures.

The BC native, who has posed several times for Playboy and appeared as “Erotica Jones” in over a dozen episodes of the animated action/comedy "Stripperella," seems to fly in the face of convention as a choice for the role of the "Virgin Mary."

Russell Peters will appear as "Joseph" in the nativity based skit.

Meanwhile, Peters has just wrapped up 3 films including Girl In Progress (Eva Mendez, Matthew Modine), Bobby Khan’s Ticket To Hollywood (Tarun Shetty, Deema Mauladad), and animated film Ribbit (Sean Astin, Tim Curry).

Airtime for "A Russell Peters Christmas" is currently scheduled for December 1 at 9 p.m. ET. For more information, you can visit the official CTV webpage.
