Long live Rock and Roll! The Second Annual Palmetto Bay Food and Rock Festival will be Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Village Center in Palmetto Bay (the old Burger King World Headquarters location). This event is being brought to you by Florida Rock Stars and the title sponsor is Miami Brewing Company.
This location is ideal for such a nice, upscale event (yea, you read that right). There is plenty of green space for the six classic rock bands that will take the big stage. You’ll also find shady spots in a covered parking area that will be utilized (there were tables under there last time). This event is nicknamed the Zeppelin Experience because one of the bands is Led Hed, who are widely known as THEE cover band for Zeppelin tunes. When they take the stage, it’ll take you right back to the 1970s when the real band would take the stage. Folks go crazy! They look like them and sound like them, too. Wait till you hear what their version of Robert Plant can do. You’ll get goose bumps. Really.
Other bands performing include: Jamie King Colton Band, Riverdown, Classic Rock Therapy, 3 Feet Closer and Colbert. These are South Florida’s best classic rock bands, bar none!
Be sure to come hungry. There will be 20 gourmet food trucks onsite for your dining pleasure including South Florida favorite, Big Pig BBQ. You’ll find big Mark in the truck with the most mouthwatering bar-be-cue you may have ever sunk your teeth into. This is serious finger-licking food. Ribs always sell out so get ‘em while you can (and pray that Dana made her peanut butter cake). Some trucks, like Big Pig even take credit cards, but bring funds for the cash bar, which will be run by Tobacco Road (yes, THEE Tobacco Road, the oldest bar in Miami). Step up and get yourself a delicious craft beer from the Miami Brewing Company. Lots of other vendors will be there for your pleasure, too.
In addition to great music and delectable food, you can participate in the Silent Auction and you might just walk away with an authentic autographed Rolling Stones or Paul McCartney guitar. You can also purchase raffle tickets for $5 that could score you a 2.2 carat diamond ring (huge for the average girl just not a Kardashian). Or, a vintage Jackson Randy Rhoades flying V guitar. Prefer wheels? You could win a brand new motorcycle. Just be sure to buy lots of tickets and help out a good cause. Winner need not be present to win, get your tickets now.
You’ll find lots to keep you busy all day and night. The Miami Marlins will be there to represent and you’ll even get to see a few Playmates who will be handing out Playboy Energy Drinks. What’s that in the sky? Not a bird or plane but the Good Year Blimp. Good times.
