La Quinta was just hit with two earthquakes this morning, one was 5.1 and the other was 5.2. One right after the other, it was felt in Palm Springs as a jolt and then a rolling sensation.
The earthquakes hit at 9:56 am Pacific time and was a great wake up for people who are dragging this Monday morning from the change in daylight savings time.
This is a much needed release for our San Andres fault line. Hopefully this will release some pressure so that a greater earthquake will not be in this area.
Since this morning the quakes have been downgraded to 4.7 each.
