Palm Springs gearing up for Modernism Week, Feb. 17-27, 2011
Palm Springs has long been San Francisco's favorite gay getaway. And if you can travel next month, you can go in style and stay in style.
The city is gearing up now for its annual Modernism Week.
In a not-so-veiled jab at Las Vegas, Palm Springs' official tourism office sent out a blast e-mail on Tuesday, January 25, entitled, "We don't blow up our 50-year old architecture, we celebrate it!"
You can literally experience Palm Springs modernism in your sleep if you stay at one of the city's many modernist hotels. Click on the video on the left for a great tour of the landmark gay Triangle Inn, a great example of Palm Springs architecture at its best.
