Despite all rumors to the contrary Palladium Books continues to survive. In 2011 Palladium had its ups and downs but their attitude as they move into 2012 is nothing less than purely optimistic about the future of their games. The website received a much needed facelift and can now be noted as one of the nicest looking and user friendly gaming websites on the internet. Kevin Siembieda, the heart of the company, continues to post regular updates to the website and their Facebook group about the state of the company and the projects they are working on. 2011 also featured their triumphant return to Gen Con Indy where many gamers were happy to see them once again. Combine these achievements with a steady flow of high quality products throughout 2011 and the company does have good reason to hold their heads high heading into the next year.
Palladium Books’ tentative release schedule for 2012 includes the much anticipated World Book 32: Lemuria which has been expanded up to 192 pages. The Dead Reign Sourcebook 3: Endless Dead adds new types of zombies, survivors and expands the setting of Palladium Books’ foray into zombie apocalypse roleplaying games. The Rifts Vampire Sourcebook is scheduled for a March release providing additional material for the New Revised Edition of World Book 1: Vampire Kingdoms which came out in August of 2011.
Work continues on Rifts: The Black Market, Northern Gun One and Northern Gun Two while the company also has numerous other products coming down the pipe. Gamers can expect to see more material for the Robotech RPG, Palladium Fantasy RPG, Splicers, Beyond the Supernatural, Chaos Earth and more. Kevin Siembieda has a lot planned for this year and even if a few items slip into early 2013 we are still going to see a lot of product hitting the shelves.
The Palladium Open House will be held in Westland, Michigan from May 4th to the 6th. The event is hosted at the Palladium warehouse and includes gaming events, opportunities to meet with Palladium staff members, writers and artists, access to exclusive products, a live auction, discussion panels and a lot of camaraderie.
The company has organized the Megaversal Ambassadors program which supports volunteers who work to introduce new players to the Palladium Megaverse. Potential Megaversal Ambassadors can follow instructions found on their website to apply for membership and if accepted into the program gain access to the Megaversal Ambassador Forum and Lounge, Game Master Kits and a growing network of game masters who help each other to organize events and spread interest in Palladium’s game lines.
Fans of The Rifter still have time to take advantage of The Rifter Super-Subscription Offer which lasts until February 20, 2012. As part of this offer Palladium Books is offering a one year subscription to their quarterly sourcebook for only $39.80. This equates to $9.95 per issue or roughly $2 in savings per issue and $8 savings on the year. They also pay shipping and handling on the sourcebook and include a free gift of your choosing.
Gamers in the Indianapolis area looking to get their hands on Palladium Books products can find new and used copies of popular books at Saltire Games on the east side and a healthy supply of used products at Half Price Books (located in Greenwood and Avon). Palladium Books also has an online store where products can be purchased as well.
