A Palin SUV is making headlines after the 1999 Ford Expedition was sold on eBay for an impressive sum of $10,300. The used suburban utility vehicle was once used by Sarah Palin, and that's what drove up the price to well above Kelly Blue Book values. For a basic model 1999 Ford Expedition in excellent condition, KBB lists a fair price from a private seller as $1,638.

According to a UPI report dated Dec. 10, 2013, the Palin SUV was sold by Wasilla Mayor Verne Rupright. “This was her mayor-mobile,” Rupright said. “Sarah had that for the rest of the time she was mayor, so we look at it this way. When you stop and think of who drove that, … why not get the biggest bang for the dollar for the city?"

The eBay listing describes exactly what is so special about the Palin SUV:

This vehicle was purchased new by the City of Wasilla in 1999 for offical use by Mayor Sarah Palin through her second term as mayor ending in October 2002. The vehicle has remained in the city fleet as a staff car for successive administrations. The vehicle is in storage at this time, and it is in need of new brakes, wheel seals and an idle air control valve. The buyer will need to make payment directly to the City of Wasilla and arrange for shipping if necessary. The vehcile [sic] is being sold as is with no warranty.

Only four people bid on the vehicle. According to the eBay ad, it featured a tan exterior and matching tan interior. The eight-cylinder XLT Sport Utility 4-Door has 74,188 miles on it. No warranty is available.

In related news, Sarah Palin has been chosen to host a new television series called "Amazing America." The show will premiere in April 2014, and it will be aired by the Sportsman Channel. Check out the video on the left side of the page for more details.

What do you think? Is the Palin SUV worth a whopping $10,300? An unnamed woman from Fairbanks, Alaska sure thinks so.
