Palin speech honoring service members canceled due to liberal hate

Thanks to an "onslaught of negative feedback", an event featuring Sarah Palin has been canceled.

The Sharon K Pacheco Foundation announced Saturday it was canceling its 2011 Patriots & Warriors Charity Gala out of concern for the safety of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Palin was scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the event, originally set for May 2.

According to the announcement on the group's website:

Due to an onslaught of personal attacks against Governor Palin and others associated with her appearance, it is with deep sadness and disappointment that, in the best interest of all, we cancel the event for safety concerns, says the Foundations Director.

Leo Pacheco, founder of the organization, expressed concern for the safety of military members and their families.  "Military members and their families have been through a lot due to the wars.  We have a responsibility to protect their emotional safety just as well," he said.

"And unfortunately, some have overshadowed the purpose of this event by concentrating on their personal hatred of Sarah Palin, which is truly sad."

The event was designed to honor service members and those who have served and/or sacrificed for the country.

Since the Tucson shootings that left Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords wounded, death threats against Sarah Palin have significantly increased, and some took to Twitter to express their desire to see Palin assassinated.

Pacheco noted in the statement that no direct threats have been made, but the ever-growing hateful rhetoric against her - mostly by unhinged liberals - raised concerns for the safety of all involved.

The statement concluded by saying:

The organization deeply respects Sarah Palin, and appreciates her willingness to come and honor our military.

The organization plans to host the event at some point in the future, featuring another speaker.

The Sharon K Pacheco Foundation is a faith-based non-profit organization established in 2001 in honor of the late Sharon Pacheco, who lost her life in a car accident in 1991.

I am getting so sick and tired of these ridiculous people masquerading as "normal". I had someone on Facebook talking of how she wants to patent her name and how he thinks it would be a great SNL skit. I remarked how I didn't know if it was true, but SNL has been using her for a couple years now & how its rare anyone even watches them anymore since they've gotten so stupid and un-funny. I also said I'd patent my name too, actually, if it was 'used' all the time and laugh my silly butt all the way to the bank!

This I didn't say but so so wanted to: "So silly, so stupid, try worrying about what we should actually be worrying about you ding-a-lings!"

It is terrible and inexcusable that Sarah Palin be subjected to threats and vicious verbal attacks. The people who write those things are kooks first, and liberals second, and I propose that we start thinking about them that way regardless of party affiliation.
Example: I read a FoxNation article about Michelle Obama's dress recently, and some of the things in the comments were so malicious I'm still shocked. BUT they don't represent "conservative hate." Or conservatives in general. They represent "kook hate."
Pirate ships used to sail under the flags of friendly countries, then hoist the skull and crossbones. Hatefilled kooks, flying under the conservative, liberal, or whatever flags are just like them.

The public statement stinks of finger-pointing.
Odds are that quitter Palin stomped out because they didn't remove the brown M&Ms from the candy bowl in her hospitality suite.

Talk about spin.  Not to mention providing a perfect example of liberal hate.

More political drama...will it ever end?

  • Joe Newby 1 year ago

Right, because no one has ever uttered an unkind thing about Palin, right? And the Pacheco Foundation is lying when they report they have gotten an onslaught of negative attacks. Is that your story? Please. Talk about spin.

Well, Joe, the Pacheco Foundation is lying when they claim to be a charity. They're not registered as a charity with the Colorado Secretary of State.

But don't take my word for it, here's a link to the S.O.S's chairitable organization search function.

What's more it would appear they're lying about this alleged camp they allegedly put on for children who have lost a parent in combat. Google up "camp lifeline" and let me know what you find. I'll spoil the surprise - NOTHING! Well, unless of course you count the paragraph on their fb page and website. Not one photo, not one media article (and the media usually loves fluff pieces about something like this). Zip, zilch, nada.

I personally couldn't care less about caribou barbie, but when she and her ilk use our fallen heroes as pawns in a publicity stunt, that get's my blood boiling.

If anyone can provide real, concrete proof the Foundation is lying about the negative comments (not conjecture, not assumptions based on hearsay) let me know and I will look into it.
