Kathleen Sebelius
Although Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said on Sunday, August 16, 2009 that the Democrats public option is "not an essential element" of Obama's health care overhaul, Sarah Palin will keep attacking the provision until it is officially dropped.
Former Gov. Palin wrote about it on FaceBook on August 13, 2009
Health care is without a doubt a complex and contentious issue, but health care reform should be a market oriented solution. There are many ways we can reform the system and lower costs without nationalizing it.
Those are real reforms that we can live with and afford. Once again, I warn my fellow Americans that if we go down the path of nationalized health care, there will be no turning back. We must stop and think or we may find ourselves losing even more of our freedoms.
Unlike Obama and the Democrats, Palin has seen the Town Hall meetings as evidence the opposition being seen is real, not as a "mob" or "unpatriotic" but rather a reflection of the growing discontent against the spending spree that has taken place, first under Bush and then going wild since Obama took office.
When Palin announced that she was resigning as governor of Alaska, from the speech she made, it was obvious that she would be a thorn in the side of Obama and the Democrats. When she wrote about "Death Panels" in reference to the "end of life" provisions in the 1100 page House HR3200, some of the media made fun of her but it was soon reported that the provision had been taken out of the Senate bill.
It seems that Palin, unlike most of the Democrats and Republicans in Congress, has read every line of in HR 3200 and will continue to attack every item that she considers a threat to the freedoms that Americans enjoy, to the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
She has put the Democrats on notice that she is not going quietly into the night but will keep putting sunshine on HR 3200 and expose what is hidden in those 1100 pages.

We need to vote every member of congress out in 2010. Republicans and Dems alike. You want real change in the U.S.? VOTE THEM ALL OUT IN 2010. Find a group and join them so we can clean up the mess in Washington and break the relationships they have with lobbyists.
I've read what Palin wrote. Thanks for the link.
It sounds reasonable, especially when I checked her link on the Laffer column.
This woman has a brilliant mind, IMHO. I'm an Obama voter by the way. But not a blind socialist follower like the rest.
I've also read about the President's oped at NYT. It's sad to say that he has become out-of-touch of the realities because of his blind belief of single-payment system.
The President's attack on the insurance companies is uncalled for. He should have learned his experience from meddling with the car and banking industries. I think these interventions have become more troubling even at this early.
I am astonished with this Laffer/Palin proposal. It boils down to TORT REFORM. I support TORT REFORM and more protections to the private insurance holders. I am now against Obamacare. To the President, I hope you will start acting like President, not the candidate Obama. Don't give in to your cronies. Follow Bill Clinton'
The definition of POWER.
a private citizen posts something on her facebook page and the President of the US feels compelled to respond personally!
That is POWER!
First people start listening to Al "I invented the internet" Gore, now they're going to start taking Sarah Palin seriously? A few of us should maybe go for short term memory testing.
@Bystander
Hehe. "I think we could solve all the problems by giving healthcare to the Afghanistanians and the Iraq who dont have maps, such as, and ... uh ... I can see Russia from my back yard."
Bystander says: now they're going to start taking Sarah Palin seriously?
Hahahaha Obama DID! If your drivel is true, what does that say about the Fraud in Chief? HE IS AN IDIOT?!
I feel sorry for Mccain...he must be feeling like Dr. Frankenstein after the monster escaped.
"ummmm, fire good....me see russia from here...me quit work to work better".
This is the congress doesn't know how to read or lack the time to actually do their job, they didn't even look at the 787Billion that they were going to spend. Thanks goodness for people like Sarah Palin that can bring things to the attention of congress so that they know what they are signing into law.
It boggles the mind to hear all these obamatards talk about how stupid Palin is, but yet their hero Barry is a walking/talking gaffe machine, second in that category only to Biden. I guess these libtards really are that brainwashed.
Bystander, you mis-quoted Palin and then made fun of her. The correct quote would be "You can see Russia from parts of Alaska" which is entirely true.
Bystander, you mis-quoted Palin and then made fun of your own mis-quotation. The correct quote would be "You can see Russia from parts of Alaska" which is entirely true.
Folks who can take Sarah Palin seriously are just too emotionally attached to their opinion to actually consider making an honest attempt to analyze the truth. She is really great a repeating the same speech over an over but when asked simply questions about real issues she blunders under the pressure... and she has lied to and misrepresented her constitutes several times.
She is not interested in the voice of the people and Alaskans can attest to it. Here is just one example:
Twice (fact look it up) the people of Alaska have voted to outlaw aerial hunting of wild wolves, and twice (fact look it up) Sarah Palin has over turned the will on the people. And you can scream tree hugger all you want, all the Alaskan people did was vote that areal hunting is NOT THE RIGHT WAY to control a wolf population and somehow Sarah Palin "wolf expert" thinks she knows better. We aren't talking about outlawing the killing of wolves, just the method.
Death panels huh? Get a grip!
Got something to say?
