Besides taking aim at the usual targets of liberals and the media Sarah Palin also goes after the McCain presidential campaign manager and a number of other campaign staff. Palin complains that she was essentially handled improperly from the very beginning. In a not-so-subtle way Palin is essentially attempting to shift blame for embarrassing incidents to the McCain staff.
The McCain staff is not taking such criticism sitting down however. Campaign manager Steve Schmidt has called Palin's accounts "total fiction." In addition the Huffington Post has obtained emails former McCain campaign staff which seem to contradict some of her claims in the book.
For example in her book Palin claims that she pushed to go on Saturday Night Live early and the McCain camp made matters worse by debating the decision endlessly before eventually allowing her to go on the show. Palin's appearance on SNL was generally seen as a positive as it showed her as someone who could laugh at herself and rise above the depictions of her by Tina Fey. However rather than being the person pushing for her appearance the emails reveal that Palin seems to have taken the Fey impersonations personally. In the emails authored by Palin she actually argues against her appearance on the show despite the urgings or McCain staff who think it would be a good idea.
Other emails go on to contradict the narrative of other stories in the Palin book. While all may address what some call relatively "minor" points the former McCain staff is arguing that the inconsistencies ultimately call into question the credibility of Palin's book on all issues. In addition numerous other policy issues in the book have been factchecked by the Associated Press.

It was obvious that the McCain campaign was not on her side from all the negative comments they made after the election.
Typical politics, the McCain campaign wanted to blame it on her for their loss. The only excitement the McCain campaign ever aroused was the positive reaction republicans had to her. McCain is a progressive who supported many issues that the majority of republicans oppose.
Most republicans would not have chosen him! We got stuck with him and he deserved to lose...

McCain wasn't man enough to take responsibility for his loss. I've never seen a presidential campaign blame his loss on the VP candidate. That doesn't even make sense.

If Obama could win with the biggest fool to ever stick his foot in his mouth in Washington, McCain has no one but himself to blame.
His poll numbers went way up after he picked Palin. He blew it when he suspended his campaign and then went along with the Bush bailouts!
You guys can't change history just because you whine and ridicule! Use some facts with your rhetoric or you're just blow hards!

Look Fox News is not end all be all of news outlet, If somebody talks crap about me all the time i.e. friend, family member, guess what? There not hanging out with me…About McCain and the GOP, the only reason why they picked Palin is because they were catering to a specific voters, which let me point out only catered to there base…that’s why they lost

McCains polls went WAY UP after choosing Palin. He was ahead of Obama after the Republican convention (where Palin kicked butt and took names) until he suspended his campaign and then 'went along' with the Bush Bailouts. He never regained the lead again!

Obama is thin skinned and can't take criticism! Fox News is the only one who tells it like it is and he doesn't like it! Too Bad! He's only the president, he's not a dictator!

IMHO, McCain lost when Palin was allowed to answer unscripted during interviews, exclusive of faux. Palin's solution for creating new jobs is WHAT again, I didn't hear her response the first time around!! And does anyone know why a woman would let her daughter's boyfriend sleep at her house and NOT supervise sleeping arrangements, just askin'??
