Palettes introduces Clyfford Still-inspired dessert‏

Strawberry & Olive Oil Sponge Cake

Just in time for the finale week of Denver Art Museum’s Modern Masters exhibition, Palettes at the Denver Art Museum has introduced a new dessert, Strawberry & Olive Oil Sponge Cake, visually inspired by Clyfford Still’s “October 1950” painting.

The refreshing dessert is accompanied by Black Pepper Meringue, Berry Sorbet, Apricot Paper and Aged Balsamic Paint. Palettes' Executive Chef, Austin Cueto, demonstrates the painting's inspiration in the dessert's cylinder-shaped sponge cake - the bold red and white cake colors marbled together to create a truly authentic Still effect. Cueto adds to the oil-on-canvas effect by including a black accent brush stroke of Aged Balsamic Paint.

Marking Kevin Taylor’s new partnership as a caterer of the Clyfford Still Museum, the dessert will be available on Palettes' menu on an ongoing basis, moving forward.
