Palestinian Arabs preparing a third Intifada

“Bassam Abu Sharif, a former senior adviser to late President Yasser Arafat, added his voice to a chorus of those raising the possibility of a third Intifada...”  He said it was in response to Israeli “violations, massacres and policies against the Palestinians and their land, against Jerusalem.

"The Palestinians are working to establish a fully sovereign state on the land, sea and airspace in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 242”  (www.imra.org.il, 9/30 from Maan News).

How do Israelis manage to commit massacres in Jerusalem without killing anyone?  They must be miracle workers.

What to make of this: (1) Arab instigators, recently arrested, spread false rumors that Jews planned to attack the mosque, and may be referring to court rulings against Arab squatters; (2) Arabs riot; (3) Israeli police arrest some; (4) We can’t have this, the Arabs think, we must prepare another uprising.

Resolution 242 does not require a sovereignty, just a peace settlement.  It does not require an particular Israeli withdrawal, just some, which Israel did from Sinai.
