Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino will visit the site of the proposed Park51 Islamic Center and Mosque tomorrow, where he will sign a pledge voicing his opposition to the project.
Paladino, who has said that if elected he'd use eminent domain to prevent the mosque from being built will sign the "9/11 Ground Zero Hard Hat Pledge" in a news conference. The pledge reads:
“As Americans we take ‘The 9/11 Ground Zero Hard Hat Pledge’ in support of construction workers, vendors and planners who have pledged to deny their tools and labors to the building of a mosque at Ground Zero. We call on local and national officials to support the 9/11 "hard hats" as they take this stand to protect the dignity, honor and memory of those who lost their lives September, 11th 2001, on the battlefield, Ground Zero.”
“We are proud to have Carl Paladino sign the 9/11 Ground Zero Hard Hat Pledge," said 9/11 Ground Zero Hard Hat Pledge founder Andy Sullivan. He’s demonstrated once again that he’s committed to defending the honor of Ground Zero and memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11.”
Paladino's Democratic rival, Andrew M. Cuomo has taken the position that it's not government's place to interfere with religion and as long as the center is built in accordance with all local laws sees no reason to interfere.

If it were a church or Christian youth center that was being built in that specific location, no one would say anything, but just because it's an Islamic center...American's are up in arms. The terrorists that attacked New York renounced their Islamic faith and beliefs as soon as they went on this quest to destroy another human being. They were not Muslims, they were simply evil.
I'm voting for Carl Paladino. A governor for the people. He will provide jobs, cut taxes and spending.
Paladino already lost. He's disgusting.
