Pakistani One pound fish video goes viral

Muhammad Shahhid Nazir is the perfect demonstration of the proverb, “Give a man a fish and he will eat for one day. Teach a man to fish and he will feed his family.” The 31-year old fishmonger made his daily living “Shouting up” customers to get them to his stand, just one of many fish and food stands in the open busy market.

Nazir wanted his stand to “Stand out”

The more people that notice you the more people will come to buy your fish, otherwise you are just one of many in the open markets of Pakistan and they go to the first one or sometimes the cheapest one. “I had to do something to get my customers to notice me, and shouting at them all day long would give me a headache at the end of the day,” the singing Nazir explained.

Customer “shout out” becomes a catchy phrase

So catchy, since he is used to saying it all day long for work, his “One pound fish” song has become famous, and people began stopping by to take pictures and video of the singing fishmonger. The video has over 7 million hits on it now and is even passing up Psy’s Gangnam Style.

In the end the “One pound fish” song is making Nazir and his family a fortune because now news teams are showing up. “My Queens England fish stall changed my whole life.”
