Reunions of two Beatle-related groups from this year's International Beatles Week, took place Aug. 26 at the 02 Academy, Liverpool correspondent Donna Jackson and Charles Rosenay, who's in the city for a Beatle tour during the event, told us today.
The event at the 02 Academy was called “An Absolute Frolic With Neil Innes and Friends,” but it ended up with reunions of both the Rutles and the Scaffold. Fellow Rutle Barry Wom joined in on the Rutles reunion.
Michael McCartney, Paul's brother, and John Gorman, both original members of the comedy group Scaffold, also performed.
You can see pictures of both groups in the slideshow.
The close of International Beatles Week is a concert by Joe Brown, long time friend of George Harrison, who performs Tuesday night at the Cavern Live Lounge. It was Joe's version of “I'll See You in My Dreams” that provided the wonderful finale to “Concert for George.”
