According to a press release this morning, US-based Environmental Imports, Inc. reached an agreement with Pacific Paint Philippines, Inc., also known as Boysen, to distribute a paint that cleans the air.
KNOxOut Air Cleaning Paint is the first air-cleaning paint in the world with CristalActiv technology. Cristal, the world's leading producer of ultrafine titanium dioxide, chose Boysen to partner with for using CristalActiv in paint formulations. CristalActiv uses light energy to break down the components of smog through a process called photocatalysis.
This technology means that homes painted with KNOxOut paint will continue to clean the air as long as the paint is on the wall, turning painted surfaces into air purifiers.
Johnson Ongking, Vice President for Boysen, said this, "By transforming ordinary walls into air purifiers with a few brushstrokes, people all over the world can be part of the movement for cleaner air."
From young couples buying new homes to the remodeling of older homes, families will have the option of using a technology to provide cleaner air for their children. In fact, because this paint does so much more than decorate, many people may paint or repaint walls just for the health benefit.
The larger, long-range health benefits of the paint will be seen in doctors' offices, clinics, hospitals, schools and anywhere people congregate. Anyone who hates to paint because of the noxious odors will appreciate this paint. It can only have positive health benefits for people in the construction trade.
