Back in October of 2012, Nordic Games released an HD reboot of the Painkiller franchise, entitled, Painkiller: Hell and Damnation. Now Nordic, and developers The Farm 51, are bringing the hellish experience to console gamers.
On April 5th, 2013, Painkiller: Hell and Damnation will release for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Both a standard and collector's edition will be available. If the console version of the collector's edition is similar to the PC collectors edition it will include an artbook, making-of DVD, original soundtrack, stickers, postcards, posters, and exclusive in-game items.
“We have been working around the clock to bring the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game in line with the quality and standard of the PC game,” says Reinhard Pollice, Production and Business Development Manager at Nordic Games. “There has been a slight delay so that the console communities can enjoy the fiendishly ghoulish experience that we know they want and deserve. In taking this additional time to add the final touches, we know that players will realise that the best things do come to those who wait!”
Painkiller: Hell and Damnation was met with mediocre reviews for its PC release, with critics noting the briefness of the campaign and the lackluster A.I. to be at the core of the main issues.
Look for Painkiller: Hell and Damnation this April on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
