Years ago, I was able to attend the Laguna  Pageant of the Masters. Now, not being a huge follower of the arts I was not sure if I would be able to appreciate the performance, BUT let me tell you...it was amazing.

Thanks to an email from a reader,  I was informed that as a July special you can get tickets to this amazing event on a buy one, get one free special. You have to hurry though, as per the website, tickets are almost sold out.

This performance is an amazing experience that I would  recommend to adults and parents with children age 7 and up.  This amazing group of people are able to put together what is called "living art". People are painted and posed to look like paintings, sculptures and various pieces of art. From the seats, it is hard to tell that what you are seeing is actually live people. This show has been going on since the 1930's and draws a large crowd every year. The show itself is ninety minutes in length and is accompanied by a live orchestra. Held in an outside amphitheater, the theme for this years pageant is "Eat, Drink and be Merry".

The show is a must see and at the sale price, you can't beat it!  With prices listed at $20 and $15 per person, once you apply the buy 1- get 1 free special this makes for a reasonable night out.

The Laguna Sawdust Festival is also a fun place to visit while you are attending the Pageant of the Masters. It is held next to the Pageant and  to attend the festival is only $7 for general admission, $4 for students and seniors with kids 12 and under getting in for free (as are Laguna residents). This art festival is spread over 6 acres and has over 140 local vendors showing off their creative side. Visitors can enjoy live music and different food is available for purchase. The kids can keep busy with hands on activities and art projects as well.

The festival this year is held from July 7- August 31st and is open from 10 am to 11:30 pm.

this is a fantastic price and I noticed it was a great price. I remember being impressed by the coins that have "live people" in them, they look like the coin and are suspended in the air and even with binoculars you can't see them move. Fantastic show.
