Padua grad Shelley rebounds after health scare

I came across this article on the Rider University athletics website about Taylor Shelley, a sophomore swimmer from Brandywine Hundred. Shelley swam for the Brandywine YMCA and scholastically at Padua Academy, and during the summer for Del-Vets in the North Brandywine Swim League.

She recently returned to the pool for the Broncs after a health scare, winning an award at a meet at Princeton University. I have written in the past about Shelley; links to those articles are at the end of this piece.

This story is a bit personal for me. I have known Taylor Shelley since she was in kindergarten. Our daughters went to school together for 13 years and are good friends. Her parents, John and Lisa, are friends of mine. No 19-year-old should have to be worried about a health scare of this magnitude, and neither should her parents. It's good to see Taylor is feeling better and back in the pool.
