Paczki day only comes around once a year, The day before Ash Wednesday, Fat Tuesday offers people one last day of indulgence before lent begins. Traditionally Paczki were made by Polish Catholic as a way of enjoying the of the last sweets and fats that they would eat before lent. Paczki day is also known as Strove Tuesday!
Paczkis are larger then normal jelly filled doughnuts, Packing between 200 to 500 calories per Paczki depending on the fillings. From custard to lemon filling there is a flavor to satisfy everyone.
While many people will flock to Hamtramck,Michigan for their paczki fix, some people may not have
the time to venture that far. Many local bakeries and doughnut shops will offer their versions of Paczki.
