Pacquiao vs. Mayweather championship fight isn’t going to happen in March. The Pacquiao and Mayweather camps walked away Tuesday from the mediation saying that talk will continue, even though they failed to reach a resolution. Leaving fans with some hope that it could still happen.
Mayweather stood his ground Tuesday and wants blood tests to be taken within 30 days of the fight date, and Pac has agreed to unlimited urine tests, but no blood tests within 30 days before the fight. The two camps could not reach a resolution. Mayweather wants to make sure that before he fights the champ that he's clean. Pac wants to make sure that he is able to fight Mayweather at full strength and doesn't want a blood test right before the fight to weaken him. Neither side wants to budge on their drug testing issue. Even though they may have a $40 million payday with this fight, both sides also have a lot to lose.
Thursday, Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum is the one who officially has given up on talks for the possible fight, according to Boxing News 24.
While the replacement fights are not as exciting and won’t draw as large a crowd. Both sides have already considered who they will fight. Pac vs. Foreman seems to be the favorite at the moment. And Mayweather vs. Malignaggi seems to be the favorite on the other side.
The March 2010 fight would have been held in Las Vegas, and many Utah fans would love to be able to attend what is being called one of the greatest fights ever… Pacquiao vs. Mayweather.
