Manny Pacquiao is not one to duck opponents. Just look at his resume; the guy fought the best and took on risks and challenges only few people in boxing can claim to have taken. He could've chosen to fight smaller guys when everybody said Oscar Dela Hoya would kill him and that he was too small for Miguel Cotto and the other bigger opponents he's faced, but he didn't. In return, he's reaped the fruits of the risks he's taken despite his detractors finding every excuse in the book to diminish his accomplishments. You can praise Juan Manuel Marquez all you want for the tough fights he gave Pacquiao, but can you picture how he would do against Cotto, Margarito and Clottey? I don't know about you, but before I'd want to see him fight Pacquiao again, I'd like to see first how he'd do against any one of those three guys Pacquiao has beaten.
Another fighter who can say the same and has taken on all comers is Sergio Martinez. The guy they call 'Maravilla' (meaning 'Marvelous' according to our buddy Carlos Suarez of Boricua Boxing) took the long and harder route on his road to recognition eating a few tough decisions along the way. After his sensational 2nd round knockout win over Paul Williams last weekend, boxing fans immediately jumped at the prospect of Martinez taking on Pacquiao. The two are definitely on top of the list as the sport's most exciting boxers. Not only are they skilled and talented, they come to fight each time and can end it at any moment. If you don't believe me, just ask Williams and Ricky Hatton. There's one big issue however: Martinez is too big for Pacquiao.
Even at the catch weight of 155 suggested by Martinez's promoter Lou DiBella, Pacquiao will simply be too small for the Argentinian sensation. The honest and tact Martinez is aware of this and said forthright after his victory over Williams that Pacquiao is too little for him and that it would be a mismatch. I'm not going to completely say it's a mismatch because history has proven that Pacquiao is more than capable of beating the odds before, but I concur with the simple fact that Martinez is simply that much bigger than Pacquiao. As much as I commend Pacquiao's willingness to fight Martinez, it would be foolish if he did. The last time Martinez campaigned at 147 was almost 10 years ago when Pacquiao was fighting at 122. Fighting the bigger, powerful, awkward and intelligent Martinez will be an invitation for disaster on Pacquiao's part. Pacquiao has never even weighed-in heavier than 145, so what makes it right to pit him against someone who can't even make 154 anymore? Martinez vacated his WBC 154 belt after beating Kelly Pavlik last April.
At this point, it's really all about Mayweather. Financially, it might even be better for Pacquiao to fight Juan Manuel Marquez because of his solid Mexican fan base instead of Martinez, and to think Pacquiao feels that trilogy won't sell. If he can't lure Mayweather out though, he should concentrate on fighting the best possible opponents at 147 or 140 like Andre Berto and Timothy Bradley. Sadly, Shane Mosley will likely be his next opponent since Mosley is a free agent and looks to make lots of dollars with Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum. Arum resents the idea of financially carrying other promoters with him in promoting big fights.
On a different note, Pacquiao's strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza insists the Pacquiao that fought Antonio Margarito was only 75% of the fighter he's used to. "I thought he was 75%," Ariza said and added, "a 100% Manny Pacquiao would've stopped him (Margarito)". "Manny Pacquiao-Cotto, that Manny Pacquiao would've knocked him out. Manny Pacquiao-Clottey, that Manny Pacquiao would've knocked him out," Ariza continued.
Without being able to feed Pacquiao the way he wanted to and give him protein and all the supplements he wanted, Ariza simply believes Pacquiao was too small which led to him absorbing more punishment than he needed to. "Let's be realistic, if you know physiology, if he came in at 144 at 6 o'clock at night that means he was 140 in the morning," Ariza elaborated. Pacquiao weighed-in at 144.6 against Margarito the day before the fight and re-hydrated to 148 unofficially during fight night.
Ariza also insisted that it was the worst camp he's ever been in with the pound for pound king. "Since I've been with him yes. I can only speak for the last six fights, but yes, it was the worst." Asked what Manny's response was after the fight, Ariza said, "He (Pacquiao) just said never again, we're not going to have a fight like this again".

I didnt hear in any of his interviews that Manny says he will not take the blood bullcrap test. Even though this ineffective means that has never caught any single juicer in the olympics, Is being demanded by girlweather, Pacman has never said that he will not take the test. What he want is a compromise on the part of girlweather since this is a negotiation on the contract and should not be a demand.

You have very valid reasons why Manny should not fight Sergio. But if Manny decides to fight him, he could beat Sergio by boxing a la vs de la Hoya. Which means, Manny should forget allowing himself to get hit for showmanship and excitement. A mere boxing clinic(and Manny could if he chooses...) will do a win for him against Sergio. I believe Manny was created differently; much like Robert Wadlow in height and Samson in strength...Truly, God has Manny's blessings...Everytime Manny starts to pray in the ring, it's as if the heavens open up for him(-;

Berto or Bradley or Alexander are also big draws for the U.S. boxing fans, black or white, brown or yellow. These fighters are more deserving to fight the best fighter today in Pacquiao. They are

Lets just give Pacman and Maravilla a well deserved respect. they are both great in their own level.. maravilla is just right by saying pacman is smaller but he never discredited pac's ability in the ring. i like the way he speaks, he is not a boastful fighter. for the meantime give pac his due, let him work as a congressman and forget boxing for the meantime.

Have a catchweight of 156 lbs, but on fight night, both fighters should not exceed 160 lbs or they will be penalized.

If the mayweather fight does not happen. PACQUIAO should fight MARTINEZ for the middleweight title under a catchweight of 155/156lbs. this would allow pacquiao to win his 9th title in as many divisions and his 5th lineal title in 5 divisions. another double milesone for his legacy. this is possible because we should remember that martinez is shorter than margarito and he already lost to him before. pacquiao also beat margarito weighing 165lbs (which is a supermiddleweight) when they fought. im sure martinez would take the deal becuse it would mean a lot for both fighters career. its possible... lets push for it.
another choice if pacquio-mayweather or pacquiao-martinez would not materialize... a PACQUIAO-MARQUEZ III for the LINEAL lightweight title (135lbs.) pacquiao is a natural lightweight. this would be ideal because it would not only settle the score for both fighters but it would also make pacquiao capure his 5th LINEAL title in 5 divisions. another first! take note that pacquiao won a lighweight title before but not the LINEAL title. this would bring in interset, a classic trilogy, a mark in history and an end to all doubters... what do you guys think?

And if ever they collides with martinez, catchweight should be orbserved in that regard. A catchweight of 144kg to 147kg would be better. Furthermore that that catchweight is fair enough for both fighters additionally the ppv of these two fighters will abundantly higher the former fights of pacman with margarito. Hope this soon to happen. Another option if that fight would not materialized, the alternate fight between pacman and mayweather should happen. Hope this fight will soon to happen.
