There's been a long time calling for the firing of Michael Koncz. Pacquiao's fans for the most part do not like Michael Koncz, and here lately the saber rattling for Koncz to "get gone" has never been louder. The Canadian born adviser to one of boxing's all time greats, Manny Pacquiao seems to be part cat. They say that cats have 9 lives, well it seems that Koncz has more than that. Pacquiao for reasons unknown to most refuses to get rid of him.
Philippine press have been firing their guns with no mercy as of late. Koncz has been their target, and according to most sources off of the record, they have a good reason to be. Sources say that Koncz has, lets say (mismanaged) the careers of several young Filipino fighters over the course of time. There's now an organized effort to take Koncz to task for it. Will Koncz survive this latest round of salvos? If history is any indicator, yes he will. Let's wait and see.
Why doesn't Manny Pacquiao get rid of Michael Koncz? There are many theories. One of which is that Koncz just knows too much information about what may or may not be going on inside the world of Manny Pacquiao. One never knows what happens within the confines of 4 walls. Perhaps Koncz just has too much inside information, and Pacquiao would rather just keep him close. There's an old saying, "Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer" and that could apply in this case.
One thing is clear, Koncz has hit a nerve with the Filipino press and with several of the Filipino fighters. These Filipino's train hard, and they sacrifice everything to make a better life for themselves and for their families through boxing. If it's true that Koncz is just chewing them up and spitting them out just to appease his own agenda, that would truly be a shameful act.
Nothing is worse than a rich fat cat licking his paws after a big meal, while the starving cats across the street stand and watch. There's no worse feeling than that. People that attain financial freedom in many cases lose their ability to connect, and feel, what's going on at the level of those who do not enjoy such financial freedoms. They get greedy, and selfish. This is all too common in the world that we live in.
Karma is real.
