PacPali eatery serves up Daniel Edlen's yummy Vinyl Art in solo exhibit

 A solo exhibit of Vinyl Art by Daniel Edlen premieres today at Mayberry Restaurant in the Pacific Palisades.

Himself a Palisades native, Daniel Edlen grew up around art and music. In art classes from 6 years old, collecting music since high school, Edlen combined his love for both in developing his technique of creating portraiture on vinyl records, or 'Vinyl Art'.  Derived from impressionist pointilism, Daniel layers fine dots of white acrylic over black vinyl to create a unique and striking depth to the musicians portraits recreated on the surface of their albums.

Edlen's artwork has recently delighted those at VH1's corporate headquarters in New York, NY. He has also been commissioned by the David Lynch Foundation in their fundraising efforts. "It's David Lynch!" Edlen exclaims when asked about is motivation in donating over two dozen original pieces to the the foundation. Now some 30 pieces by Edlen will surround diners at the local, family friendly restaurant that caters to those seeking both healthy fare and comfort food.

is located at 1028 Swarthmore Avenue in the Pacific Palisades. Edlen's work will be on display from August 27 through October 10, 2011.
