On Friday, Al Pacino said he won't meet Spector before his portrayal of him in an upcoming movie. However, to his surprise, he already met former record producer and convicted killer, Phil Spector.
He found this out when he saw an old photo that was taken almost twenty years ago, which showed him standing by the future murderer, Spector. When a friend of Pacino showed him the picture, he was shocked and said he did not remember the encounter, reported Yahoo! on Jan. 4.
The HBO movie starring Al Pacino is called "Phil Spector," and it airs in March. It's primary focus is on the relationship Spector had with attorney, Linda Kenney Baden. Baden represented Spector during his first trial for the murder of actress, Lana Clarkson.
After the initial result of the case was a mistrial, Spector was later convicted in a second trial which landed him 19 years to life in prison.
When asked why Pacino didn't want to meet Spector in prison, he explained that the man in prison is not the same one he is portraying in the movie. He also gave the following statement to media sources:
"I didn't know anything about him, except that he was responsible for a lot of great music and this strange case," Pacino said.
