Pacifiers putting babies at risk of choking recalled by Fred & Friends

More than 200,000 pacifiers are being recalled by Fred & Friends after the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission found that children who use them run the risk of choking. The items include the Chill Baby Artiste Pacifier, which has a plastic mustache and beard that can break off, as well as the Baby Volume Control Pacifier, whose volume knob can also detach. In addition both the Volume Control Pacifier and Chill Baby Panic Button Pacifier were found to have ventilation holes are “smaller than required by federal regulation.”

Consumers are being warned to stop using the three products immediately. They can also apply for a $12 refund by contacting Fred & Friends at 855 346-6372 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday- Friday, email the firm at or online at and click on Pacifier Recall for more information.

The public can also report incidents involved with these pacifiers to the Consumer Product Safety Commission by filling out a form at
