Pacific Northwest Ballet will be the highlight of the weekend starting Saturday in Beaver Creek, Colorado. A stunning company with strong Balanchine roots, PNB will dance Mr. B's Serenade and Square Dance (©The George Balanchine Trust) and Ulysses Dove's Red Angels.
Pacific Northwest Ballet , Vail International Dance Festival's resident company, will also take the stage for Sunday's performance of Broadway, Ballet and Beyond. Sunday's performance will include Twyla Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs, "Cool" from Jerome Robbins' West Side Story, George Balanchine's Duo Concertante and Christopher Wheeldon's After the Rain pas de deux.
Both The Ballet Masterworks series (Saturday) and Broadway and Beyond (Sunday) will begin at 7:30 pm at the Ford Amphitheatre - easily one of the most stunning settings for an evening of ballet. Set outside, and without a bad seat in the house, the Ford Amphitheatre offers a range of options, from up close and personal seats at $55/$75 to $17 general admission lawn seating. The lawn seats are an absolute steal for the caliber of dance presented for the next two weeks in Vail. Purchase your tickets here.
Additionally, the Vail International Dance Festival will keep fans updated and on their toes with clips of rehearsals, interviews, and past performances on their blog.
With a fantastic variety of Balanchine, Robbins, Wheeldon and more, Pacific Northwest Ballet will treat audiences as they dance contemporary choreography with their trademark strength and aesthetic lines.
