Though rooted in the heart of Orange County, California, the Pacific Coast Wine Festival is showing respect for the historic Bordeaux wine region in France with a live auction trip worth over $50,000 at its March 1, 2014 fundraising event at The Island Hotel. This unique wine vacation and tour is scheduled for June 22-28, 2014 and visits at least 18 chateaus for tasting and tours, resides five nights in chateaus, attends a black tie wine celebration, and concludes with a night at the Grand Hotel Bordeaux.
This illustrious Bordeaux immersion is created by Tristen Beamon, CEO of Bestwinesonline.com. Beamon will join and lead the trip as an expert Bordeaux wine buyer and frequent traveler to the region. “I wanted people to truly delve themselves in the heart of the Bordeaux experience. This trip can’t be found via a tour company. It is created solely for attendees of the Pacific Coast Wine Festival by me, my friends, and colleagues within Bordeaux,” said Beamon adding, “We knew if we created a Bordeaux experience that we ourselves would die to purchase, then it would be a showstopper for the Pacific Coast Wine Festival.”
The June 2014 Bordeaux trip spends most of its time on the Left Bank including tastings at renowned Chateau Haut Brion, Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte, Chateau Margaux, and Chateau d’Yquem, but does jump to the Right Bank to experience selections within Saint Emilion like Chateau Angelus. After three over nights at Chateau Pape Clement and two at Chateau Pichon-Lalande, and the six days of finely selected Bordeaux wineries, the trip winner(s) will join the elegant “Fete de la Fleur,” an exclusive annual evening celebration of the flowering of the vine.
“This trip really shows our community’s love for the experience of wine. I predict aficionados will clamor for such an intimate, finely crafted Bordeaux retreat,” shared Mike Kerr, founder of the Pacific Coast Wine Festival.
Pacific Coast Wine Festival is a premier fundraiser for Pacific Symphony with proceeds supporting its award-winning education, artistic, and community programs such as “Heartstrings” and “Class Act.” Heartstrings delivers beautiful symphonic music to the Orange County community with complimentary performances and customized programs.
