Uncharted 2: Among Thieves cover.
Although Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is one of the best games on the Playstation 3, many thought that the exclusive title didn’t sell as much as it should have. Unlike the first game, the upcoming sequel has been gathering quite a bit of hype before. Michael Pachter, an analyst from Wedbush Securities, seems quite please at the sales potential for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. He made the following comment on the latest Bonus Round episode:
“I think it’s the game Sony always wanted and I think it’s been a long time since we’ve seen a ‘Game of the Year’ kind of game come out of Sony. So I think it matters and it’s got hardcore appeal.” He latter added, “It’s a game changer for them, its coming out in a nice little window in October and it’s coming out right on the heels of the price cut. I think it keeps them ahead of Microsoft for a bit.”
When asked out whether or not Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be a system seller for the Playstation 3, he responded with the following statement:
“I think that certainly Uncharted will push a couple of hundred thousand incremental boxes. Not five million boxes but two or three hundred thousand incremental boxes absolutely.”
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be released on October 13th exclusively for the Playstation 3.

Uncharted sold over 2.5 million copies, i'm not exactly sure what people were expecting from a new ip...
I agree completely Jeff.
A new ip, little advertising and on the console with the lowest install base; 2.5 million is very good, anything over a million is a success for starters.
Given that the 120GB PS3 slim shifted something like 1 million units worlswide within the first 4 weeks of it's launch window, the slim 250GB Uncharted bundle will definately shift another 1 million worldwide during the Christmas period. Guaranteed!!!
