Understanding and Addressing Challenging Behaviors in Your Young Child
An opportunity for families of children with disabilities from birth to age 5 to learn practical tips to address challenging behaviors.

Tuesday, August 25, 2009 -- 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Practical Tips: Using the Individualized Education Program to Meet Behavior Needs
Parents of children ages 5 through 12 with emotional or behavioral needs are invited to learn how to use the Individualized Education Program (IEP) to meet their child’s needs at school.

Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 -- 7-9 p.m.
Charter Schools and Special Education
Like all public schools, charter schools receive federal funds and therefore must follow federal and state laws, including those that address education for children with disabilities. This workshop will give parents an opportunity to learn valuable information and network with other parents of children with disabilities who attend charter schools.
