Memorial Day Weekend has descended upon Boulder, bringing with it the Boulder Creek Festival, the Rubber Duck Race, the Bolder Boulder 10K and who knows what else. It's going to be a bustling few days. Looking for a little quiet away from the crowds? Well, on Sunday afternoon, duck into Innisfree on the Hill for...
A Solo Performance by Pace Goodman
When: Sunday, May 25, 1:30-3:00 p.m.
Where: Innisfree Poetry Bookstore & Cafe
(1203 13th Street Ste A, Boulder, 80301)
Pace Goodman continues the American tradition of marrying blues, folk, jazz and rock.... For inspiration he looks towards Bob Dylan, Billie Holiday, The Wood Brothers and Justin Townes Earle.
Pace Goodman is the guitarist piece of the three-piece folk rock group Holiday Blue. Before that, he played for a time with The Pamlico Sound. That's just the barest snippet of his journey through Boulder's music scene; you can read more in the above-linked Colorado Daily interview and in Goodman's article for elephant journal. Sunday afternoon, he'll bring to Innisfree a collection of songs especially suited for a solo performance which you won't want to miss.
Innisfree, founded in 2010, is Boulder's only poetry-exclusive bookstore, and is one of only three such stores in the United States. The store hosts poetry readings, writing groups, and musical performances every week. Come in, sip some Conscious Coffee, browse the shelves for inspiration, and discover the poetry in you.
