A 19-year-old woman from Pennsylvania is claiming that the devil made her do it when she murdered a man she met on Craigslist, according to Fox News. Miranda Barbour and her husband Elytte have been charged with the death of Troy LaFerrara who had responded to a Craigslist ad. In exchange for money Miranda offered companionship.
The police investigation revealed that the married couple allegedly performed the murder of LaFerrara in her car because, “They wanted to kill someone together,” reported Fox News. The prosecutors are moving for the death penalty against both in the murder case.
In what is sure to be a “Devil made me do it,” defense, the accused young female murderer told a local newspaper the Daily Item that satanic cult while she lived in Alaska. The satanic cult influence is claimed by be her to have led to killing of “22 other people in Alaska, Texas, North Carolina and California in the last six years,” according to Fox News.
With a possible death penalty hanging over the head of Miranda Barbour the judge has made the decision to grant her defense counsel’s request that she be examined by a forensic psychiatrist. Her husband is also having a similar psychiatric examination as well.
Local law enforcement is taking the alleged female killer’s serial murder claims quite seriously. Steve Mazzeo, who is police chief for Sunbury has contacted legal authorities in other states as well as the FBI, reports Fox News.
