Oz the Great and Powerful has fans around the world watching the film with Mila Kunis and James Franco. Disney might be having a great run at the theaters with the latest flick coming from the studios, but it appears there is a little competition online. On Tuesday Torrent Freak is reporting the movie is the most watched pirated movie online for the week.
New to the list of pirated films, it appears that Oz has fans who are watching it the illegal way in droves. The site, which tracks BitTorrent usage, apparently saw a big uptake in volume and put the film on the top of the charts.
While fans are still checking out the unique film at theaters, hitting the top of this chart continues to show what problems studios face and the continued efforts needed to stop illegal viewing of movies. Of course there is little to be done about the current film, this interesting topping will definitely attract the attention of the executives of the Hollywood studios as the lost revenue.
