Movie fans in Scottsdale are waiting to see "Oz Great and Powerful" on the big screen. On Monday, Jan. 7, Coming Soon shared new comments made by Rachel Weisz about her character in the film. New photos from the film have also been released by Spoiler Movies. Check out the photos here.
Rachel Weisz is playing the Wicked Witch of the East is this new Oz tale, and the actress spoke about the role and how it was to play an evil character the new Disney film. She said the following, according to Coming Soon:
"It was a fun idea to be playing someone who is really, really bad. I can't think of any roles that I've had like that before... She's really, really a bad person and she revels in being bad. It's a Disney film, so I shouldn't say she is 'turned on' by evil, but that's what it is like... She enjoys it, like the meaner she is the more pleasure she gets."
This film also stars James Franco, Michelle Williams, and Mila Kunis. The photos released include a brief glimpse of Weisz in her role as the witch, and it is a far different look than previous movie tales featuring Oz.
Fans are buzzing about this film and its pending release on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
This #OZGreatAndPowerful movie better be good since I’ve seen previews for it since oh idk before thanksgiving
Scottsdale residents will be able to see this film at the Harkins Scottsdale Fashion Square 7 or at another local theater in the area once it is released.
